This Practical Guide from the KNOW Kampala team at the Urban Action Lab, Makerere University, provides suggestive training advice for briquette-making as an alternative livelihood for the urban poor in Kampala and potentially further afield.

This Practical Guide is intended for training purposes with groups, organisations and/or individuals interested in starting up briquette enterprises as an alternative livelihood strategy. The Practical Guide can be used as an operational manual; as a reference text for those with already existing briquette knowledge; or as an introductory guide for those who are new to the concept and practice of briquette production and enterprises. Although based on case-studies from Kampala, this Guide may also be relevant to other contexts.
