Back to team
I am one of the KNOW city partner researchers for Lima, where we are linking urban resilience, prosperity, and development through the exploration of spatial interventions that provide responses to the structural drivers of risks experienced in the Peruvian capital.
I am an architect and urban designer with experience working in Asia, Europe, North and South America. I currently teach and conduct research at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where I am the sub-director of the Centro de Investigación de la Arquitectura y la Ciudad (Architecture and the City Research Centre) and the coordinator of the Masters in Arquitectura, Urbanismo y Diseño Territorial Sostenible (Sustainable Architecture, Urban Studies, and Land Management).
I am also the coordinator of CASA (Ciudades Auto-Sostenibles Amazónicas) (Self-Sustainable Cities in the Amazon), an action-research project in partnership with the Bartlett DPU which explores settlement relocation in the Amazon Rainforest.
I hold a MSc in Building and Urban Design in Development from University College London and a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
My interests include settlement relocation, socially and environmentally just urban practices, social housing, planning and urban design in the global South.
